Our Little Love Story

Once upon a time, there was a sweet young girl working her way through college.
She was working as a cocktail server at a popular Mexican cantina.
{I'll let you guess which one.}
During her first week there, she met a handsome young man.
During training, this darling young girl was asked to practice the {lame} restaurant birthday song.
Feliz cumpleanos a ti...Feliz cumpleanos a ti....
Despite her horrible pronunciation, her entrancing voice {Yup. It said 'entrancing.'} and even more interesting accompanying dance captivated this young man's attention.
The young man was under this girl's spell for the next 28 days.
They spent every waking moment going to the beach, going to the movies, eating dinner together, going dancing, hanging out with mutual friends, and talking on the phone.
On their very first date, the young man took the girl and her friend to see 'Enough' with Jennifer Lopez.
{A girl can never be too careful.}
{The young man still jokes to this day that the girl had to bring a chaperone on her first date with him.}
One night, while talking about their hopes and dreams, the young man asked the young girl if she would consider moving in with him.
The girl immediately told the young man that she could not move in with someone unless she was married to them.

Needless to say, the next words out of the young man's mouth were, "Marry me, then."
I know.
Super romantic.
The young couple eloped that very next day in Las Vegas.
And that is truly where our story begins...

Don't get me wrong.
I am very sad that I hurt my parents.
I also wish I could have had a wedding where my dad gave me away, I wore a long beautiful dress, and my mom, my sister, and I planned every last detail together.
but...
I wouldn't have done anything differently.
I wouldn't change a thing.
This is our little love story.
We got married after knowing each other only 28 days.
Sometimes you just know.
I am so lucky to have this man in my life.
I am so lucky to have such a beautiful life with him.
We have been through so much together.
I wouldn't want to experience life with anyone else.
He truly makes me a better person.
He has always been there for me.
He knows exactly what to say to make me smile.
He is my greatest source of strength and encouragement.
I love that he still calls me just to say hi or because he is thinking about me.
I love that he works so hard to support our family.
I love that my children constantly ask about him when he is away and light up when he walks into a room.
I love that he appreciates me as a wife and mom.
I love that he still believes in our dreams.
I love that he goes out of his way to make me feel special.
I love that we can still talk for hours about our life together, our hopes, and our dreams.
I love that I still get butterflies when I am around him.
I love that he still looks at me like I am the only girl in the room.

I adore you.
I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
You are my best friend.
You are the love of my life.
I am proud to call you my husband and the father of my children.
I can not wait to see what unfolds in the next eight chapters of our little love story.
and the eight chapters after that...
and the eight chapters after that...
and the eight chapters after that...
You make me so happy.
Happy 8th Anniversary, toots!!!
